Pro Route League – Gameweek 5 Preview

By Adeshina Muiz Opeyemi

The Pro Route League heads into Gameweek 5 with plenty of mouth-watering fixtures on the card. Here’s what to expect this weekend:

FC Zeus vs Ka’ah FC

Arguably the standout clash of the week!

Ka’ah FC come into this tie as the only unbeaten side in the league after their emphatic 5–0 victory over City Boys. Sitting top of the table with 10 points, they have scored a league-high 13 goals and conceded just 5.

For FC Zeus, it’s a chance to bounce back after their 4–1 defeat to Young Antlers last time out. With 6 goals scored and 5 conceded in four games, Zeus sit 6th with 6 points, and will need to be at their very best to stop the in-form Ka’ah side.

This is a fixture to watch closely—attack vs attack.

Skillz FC vs Young Antlers FC

This fixture promises goals!

Skillz are coming off a thrilling 3–3 draw with DollyP SA, while Young Antlers are buzzing after their first win of the season—a morale-boosting 4–1 comeback against FC Zeus.

Both teams have been exciting going forward, but Skillz FC have struggled defensively, conceding 9 goals already. With both sides sitting in mid-table (5th and 7th respectively), this could be another end-to-end battle.

House of Prayer FA vs Kwara Football Academy (KFA)

Both teams lost their last outings (HOPA 1–0 vs Barrier, KFA 2–1 vs La Planet), so expect a battle to bounce back.

KFA, the defending champions, are still yet to find their rhythm—scoring just 4 goals and conceding 3 so far. Meanwhile, HOPA sit 8th with 4 points from 4 games, scoring and conceding 6.

History favors KFA, who defeated HOPA 2–1 in this fixture last season (#HOPKFA). Both sides will be desperate to prove a point—expect fireworks.

DollyP SA vs Harmony City

Two new teams clash again in what should be a fiery contest.

DollyP are riding high after a 3–3 draw with Skillz and sit 3rd on the log with 7 points (9 goals scored, 7 conceded). Harmony City, on the other hand, are struggling in 11th place with just 3 points from 4 matches, having scored 4 and conceded 8.

The sides met in the playoffs, where DollyP came out on top. With both teams still finding their feet in the league, this encounter could produce sparks.

La Planet FC vs City Boys

La Planet are full of confidence after their 2–1 win over KFA, and will look to extend their fine form against bottom side City Boys.

City Boys suffered a humiliating 5–0 defeat to Ka’ah FC last time out and will be desperate to restore pride. But the stats and history are not in their favor—last season’s fixture (#LAPCIB) ended 7–0 to La Planet.

Currently 2nd on the table with 9 points, La Planet will be heavy favorites, while City Boys (12th, 3 points) must dig deep to avoid another tough outing.

Gaa Akanbi FC vs Barrier SC

A balanced contest awaits here as both teams enter Gameweek 5 fresh from their first wins of the season.

Gaa Akanbi beat Harmony City 2–1, while Barrier edged HOPA 1–0. With both sides sitting on equal points (Barrier 9th, Gaa Akanbi 10th, separated only by goal difference), this is a battle to push further up the table and gain momentum.

Expect a physical, tightly contested match where one decisive moment could be the difference.
